Spring Really is Coming!
This past weekend we had a taste of spring and I really cannot wait! I am itching to ride Ethan...he got all spruced up this weekend. Mane pulled, wiskers clipped, tail trimmed. Now I just have to convince the husband to reset his feet and we are good to go! Granted if it's half way decent this weekend I'll hop on him anyway! I'm jonsing for a new saddle pad...I really want a Mattes half pad with rear trim....maybe I'll put my Christmas money to use that's just been waiting for the perfect purchase!

I'm freezing!
Maybe it's just the lack of Vitamin D in my system but this winter is taking FOREVER! Yesterday we got maybe 2 inches of snow and today it's a high of 26 I believe. Last night I fell in the snow just adding insult to injury. More snow is expected tomorrow but I'm just dreaming of Spring and Summer! I probably sound like a broken record but I am over winter. That said, here's a picture that I took in December when we had a small ice storm. I looked out my kitchen window and saw something bright red in the tree in my back yard. At first I thought it was a plastic bag or something that had blown and gotten stuck in the tree. Upon getting my camera and zoom lens I discovered this little guy was just trying to stay warm.
I feel his pain. I too just want to be warm but man he was beautiful with the gloomy ice and grey sky! Here's another shot farther out.

Winter Is Still With Us
Even though Kentucky is not getting the massive amounts of snow and ice that the Midwest and North Eastern states are getting we are still dealing with 40+ mile an hour winds and MUD! So much mud I got stuck in it the other night trying to feed the boys. I had to hold onto Ethan to wiggle my toes just enough to get my boot free. So in honor of spring being just around the corner here's a picture I took many years ago when my boy CB was competing at Rolex representing Japan. He is 22 years young this year and I think just as handsome as ever. Even though I cannot catch him half the time. Dork! He's quite the character and keeps Ethan in line which is all I ask. So soon it will be Spring and time for Rolex and the rest of the shows to begin at the horse park. Ethan and I are headed to the Midsouth Pony Club Horse Trial in June if all goes well.
